We had a mayor in Buffalo once who invited the spring of life protests here, but did have something smart to say about weather, if not politics.  During the blizzard of ’85, his advice to the populace was to “Stay inside, grab a six–pack and watch a good football game.”

RIP, Jimmy Griffin.  Your politics were debatable at best, but you did have some sound foul-weather advice.

    I went to the University there, lived off of the Elmwood strip and lived there for 13 years. I was there for the blizzard of 77-7 when we had 200 inches of snow fall.>KB

    foul weather advice – would be sitting in front of the tube and watching a bills game…hahaha. that storm of ’77 i remember that one very well.
