We had a mayor in Buffalo once who invited the spring of life protests here, but did have something smart to say about weather, if not politics. During the blizzard of ’85, his advice to the populace was to “Stay inside, grab a six–pack and watch a good football game.”
RIP, Jimmy Griffin. Your politics were debatable at best, but you did have some sound foul-weather advice.
I went to the University there, lived off of the Elmwood strip and lived there for 13 years. I was there for the blizzard of 77-7 when we had 200 inches of snow fall.>KB
Yes! Went to school there too, KB, but that would have been in ’84, and I was at state and not UB…’77 was one heck of a storm. Remember it well.
…and then the power goes out.
LOL, yes!
WordPress is being a jerk again and not letting me like certain posts. But I liked this one. 😀
thanks, Alica!
Six pack and football… he couldn’t have been all bad.
Not about this, anyway 😉
Good luck east coasters, inside sounds perfect

If you’re on the path of Sandy, I hope you stay safe!
Thanks, Georgia–we are slated to get the fringes–I am more concerned for those on our east coast…
