Hi all. I deleted this page when I first started this poetry blog, because it was so not me, not the image I wanted to present. Now, three months into this blogging thing, I think I know what I want to say and how to say it.
This blog contains poetry, some artwork (mostly my daughter’s), and photography. I started this blog after a 17-year-period of mostly not writing a word.
I am a poet, an activist, a mom, and a grower of live things. Welcome to my blog–hope my words have something to say to you.
Here is some of my daughter’s artwork–her self-portrait.
Susan
I like it very much the shape and colors are so vibrant, I love it! Please tell her to never stop!
Thanks, Doris, I will–I thought it had so much energy, and dare I say it–life, for a 12-1/2-year-old girl to have created this!
I don’t know much about art, but I think this is good. Your daughter is a talented young lady.
Thank you!
I absolutely love your poetry! how could you have gohne 17 years without writing..hope you don’t go a day from here on out..good luck!
Thank you so much, Jillian! You are a HUGE encouragement!
Good blog
Thank you so much!
I have nominated you for the Silver Quill Blogger Award. I hope you like it. http://gladiuspoeticus.wordpress.com/silver-quill-blogger-award/
Ken–thank you so much! Really appreciate you thinking of me for this!
My appreciatian for having such a loyal friend 🙂
Hello Susan,
How bold of you to welcome “altercation, analysis, argument . . .”! I like that in you. It is a fresh contrast to some/many bloggers who seem to welcome only what they want to hear or like.
I also love your colourful background image comprising a conglomeration of geometric shapes.
Please convey to your daughter my compliments on her self-portrait, in which I see a young lady with a love of hearts, her heart-shape, cerise lips perching above her sanguine heart pendant or choker.
Happy October to you and your family from SoundEagle!
Thank you! The background was from a doodle in paint (a product of a long phone conversation that reminded me of stained glass). Nice to “meet” you & happy October to you too!
Hi there! It is nice to hear from you. Jeremy Nathan Marks and I have been discussing his latest poems “Pleading innocent” and “Bastard” in the last hour.
What a fantastic blog you have created! I shall spend more time later reading more of your poems and writings, and I hope that you will find something interesting or relevant to you at my blog http://soundeagle.wordpress.com.
I commented on your daughter’s painting not only because she draws very well but also because I like and make jewellery. You can see my poems on gemstones and birthstones. I also like to garden and adore plants, as my three gardening blogs reveal.
May you and your family have a wonderful weekend!
I will stop by Jeremy’s blog and “eavesdrop,” and then head over to your blog…Again, nice to meet you! oooh, please tell me more about your gardening blogs, as I love to garden!
Hi again, Susan! When you are done with http://soundeagle.wordpress.com, head over to the following blogs, which cater to different gardening lovers:

Susan, there’s some odd glitch on some of your links in WP Reader. Tehy just don’t load. I had to come all the way over here by a diferent route to let you know.
Wow, that is very strange–thanks for letting me know.
Susan, are you in some deep hole or the like? Some of us miss you. Mostly me.
Aw, thank you Trent. Training for a new job 😦
Okay. Best luck with it, try to have some fun. Sneak in a mickey or something.
Susan, are you still blogging? If so, I haven’t been able to figure out where your new stuff is.
Georgia–I will be once I get in the swing of the new job. It is taking all my energy right now 😉
10 year hiatus of not writing for me, so we have that in common although you definetely do it better than me.
I liked the poster that read “Beware of Artist, they mix with all classes of society and therefore the most dangerous” RIngs true to me.
Thanks, Charly. Nice to meet you!
