edible yellow
interweaving clover
small suns
tangle in forget-me-nots
stain feet dark brown
as cinquefoil grabs ankles
and there, wild thyme
low-slung oregano
scents mornings after mowing
who wants a day
smelling only of orchard grass
no matter how sweet that is?
thyme is my favorite. i love the last line.
Yum–love that smell–only one I like better is basil, but it’s close…
oregano in the poem, basil in the comments – I’m yours!
Smiling big… I have baby basil, almost ready to get planted outside.
nothing less than delicious !
Thanks, Deb!
I love the gentle way this drew me in.
