Hmmm, me likey. Daisies, balloons, heights, rising, clouds and …more! π
Careful, N. It’s still Lent, y’know π
Glad you liked.
playmate to the clouds…smiles…a bubble of champagne unpoped…floating along…there is some peace there…even if tethered…perhaps that keeps you grounded a bit…but you can still play…nice.
Brian, thanks so much! This was fun. I just love balloons.
…playmate to clouds — i liked that Susan…that alone is enough to envy a balloon who can play with clouds above even for a short time before it landed down back to the land… your bubble champagne description is great… enjoyed your take… smiles…
Thanks so much, Kelvin. That image just grabbed me and I had to go with it. Thanks for providing the prompt and the inspiration this week.
Love it
Thanks, Gretchen!
That red balloon has cause to celebrate. Except for that hand on the string. There’s always someone trying to bring us down. Enjoy it while you can, eh? Nice take.
Thanks, Eusebia–exactly–have to enjoy the float while it lasts.
I love your not so simple take…may I say brief? The photo tugged at me, too.
Katy, thanks–I had fun with this!
I loved it … playmate to the clouds … beautifully worded !!!
Aw, GS, thank you!
Ha! ‘A bubble in champagne / unpopped’ love it ~ fab poem as ever Susan π
Thank you, Polly. i still have “helium anger” running through my mind from yours. Might spawn something.
Aw … like a toad or a frog? heh-heh π
Exactly like that π
playmate to clouds…love this..not sure if the balloon liked the being tugged in a kids hand more of the being playmate to clouds…leaves room for interpretation which i always like
Thank you, Claudia. I agree–there is lot of room for interpretation, but I believe this particular balloon likes it’s “up” more.
Playmate to clouds is so good I love it π
Thank you, Bjorn.
Great fun — and a tad more than that. Enjoyable.
David, thank you so much!
joyful =)
Yes–bubbling. Thanks!

Delightful, Susan. I also love the last stanza.

Audra, thanks. This one just came out all at once. Have to say I like it too π
You’re a very versatile poet my dear
Thanks, Audra π
I read this to my family this morning. They all knew just what this little guy was without the picture. Fun!
Gosh, I am now red as that balloon! Thank you!
Aw a playmate for clouds, what a beautiful thought. Lovely.
Thank you!
Exploring the high whilst grounded below. Wise way to live. π
