This is one of the most beautiful take on the prompt. Lovely! 🙂
takes*
Oh, my, thank you, Vaishali. My resident cardinal always inspires me in winter.
great contrast of colors Susan. Love the image.
Thanks, Audra!
Brilliant haiku!
Thank you Rallentandra
This is soft and beautiful !!!
Oh wow, thanks!
Thank you for this breathtaking haiku!
Scarlet Letters
I like that this rhymes but what I especially enjoy is the detail of the cardinal preening and loosening that one feather. It is the attention to detail which makes haiku work for me. I like the way you did this.
Thank you, Jeremy. That is what I like most about haiku, capturing that one thing, that one image, in simplicity. I often fail at this in haiku.
I find haiku to be a true art that I would love to learn how to “master” if such a thing is possible.
I really enjoyed this and hope you do more of these.
I will try. So many of these I do in response to prompts. I need to wait for that perfect “haiku moment” more often.
The “Zen” haiku moment? 🙂
Yes–precisely and exactly that 😉
Lovely Haiku!
Thank you, Dana.
Such a pretty, and proper haiku!
Thanks so much, Ninotaziz.
I was walking in the snow this morning and came across a bird huddled close to the top of the snow in a small bush. He was as still as everything else around us… Thanks for sharing – be well~
What a beautiful, quiet moment.
Spark! I see it, the feather floating into red on white (with seeds?)
Oh! I like the idea of the feather/heat seeding itself.
Lovely. I am looking at this image out my window this morning but I’m really wishing the cardinal would ignite spring!
Oh, me too–and thank you!
Brilliant red on white snow. Love this.
Thanks, Alice.
A lovely image of red vs white. Well done!
Thank you 😉
beautiful
Thank you so much, Emma.
Perfect interpretation of the prompt. very very original
Wow, thanks so much!
I’d like a word with this bird.
He absolutely refuses to do much besides tease me with ideas of heat.
Beautiful. Cardinals are the perfect red subject!
One of my favorite birds, besides those loud bluejays.
I love this breath of fiery energy in the still of winter. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you so much! Sometimes, the eyes are given a gift, which is what this was 😉
Excellent. What a brilliant perception.
Thank you, Terry. I am giving 2/3 of the credit to the cardinal who decided to perch outside my kitchen window 😉
Love the last line!
Thank you, Margie!
Terrific photo, and I love the idea of igniting winter.
Thank you, Duncan!
Brilliant play on words 🙂
Gorgeous.
Thank you, Viv!
A delightful haiku and I love cardinals too. 😉
Eliz
Eliz, thank you. I love these guys 😉
Love this, and I must say I really miss cardinals! I grew up with them, but there are none in Seattle 😦 Thanks for bringing one to me.
Cathy, thank you–so clad you enjoyed.
