disease has no morality
and antibodies
are blind to whom they protect
cellular insurance
bought with a wince
and a cry
that small pain, forgotten
in minutes
buys a lifetime without braces
and canes, free
of the hiss of ventilators
or rooms
still full of toys
echoing absence
but they say these shots
are poisoned
with western interest
and there is a politics
that prefers death
to sterility
though dead children
can’t make babies
and immunized ones can
eventually
sugar cubes and needles
were never the enemy
but ignorance and fear–
those things kill
and spread faster than any virus
Bien fait Susan…very well done
Merci, ma soeur! No..that does not mean I can write it, but I can read it 😉
Someone like me should not be allowed to listen to the radio at night…
oh dang…you’re touching a sensitive topic here susan…so well done…ignorance and fear, yep…def. spread faster than any virus..
Thanks, Claudia–and IMHO, they are just as debilitating/deadly.
Excellent.
Thank you…
This really rattled your cage didn’t it? Very angry, and spot on accurate
Oh, that’s a perfect phrase for it–my cage was so rattled. I am all for sacrificing children’s health for BS…
Yeah, I can tell that.
I reminds me of the mocking Bill Gates got at first – Oh look at the rich guy doing ‘charidee’.
But at least he was doing something. It’s easy to scorn, you don’t have to donate, help or care if you shield yourself with scorn.
Spot on, Mike, you don’t. And you can condone debilitating disease and death to preserve politics. Ugh.
It is really sad to see people destroy themselves through paranoia. Unfortunately, they are not alone in their imagined fears tethered to medicine, and our own walk that way might one day feed an epidemic.
Sadly true, Nelle.
