today we watched
a crescent moon
navigate sky
in afternoon blueness
my son pointed
& said
he saw a man
falling
from the moon
& wanted to know
if I saw him too
***tell me this boy is not a poet….I dare you!

I must be addicted to moon poetry because the title had me here faster than i could think. I like the idea of the man in the moon escaping and discovering that its better on the moon š yes a poet for sure
š I have one more from Aryn today–I have to stop stealing lines from my son…I liked the idea too–kind of saw him coming down slowly, like a small spider on silk, but I didn’t ask Aryn about that.
It’s recognizing the validity of your son’s viewpoint that gives this poem its power.
Thanks, David–I agree.
Or he could be channeling David Bowie, I suppose…

The boy really has a great imagination … born to be a writer !!!
I think so, too–thanks!
The man falling from a moon would make an absolutely wonderful poem
Agreed–Boomie!

Thanks, Kyle.
Love it!
Thanks, Danny!
Out of the mouth of babes, beautiful poetry emerges!
Thanks, Noel. Cannot believe what comes out of his mouth–really!
he is a mini you š
He is a little blessing, that’s for sure!
Cool… wonder where he gets it? Meanwhile, I hear Echo & The Bunnymen.
Ear worm—-oh no……..what to do–listen to it now or fight it for three hours?
He is. Indeed.
Thanks, Jeremy. My wonderful little man/poet.
Like mother, like son š
š I think son is having an earlier start at it!
