waiting for the storm

everything I am
stretches towards
& yearns to burn electric

my skin
rippling pure energy
barely time to say yes
& again
that same yes

a strike that cannot be cooled
by just rain
after thunder

rattles my bones
with its power

About Susan L Daniels

I am a firm believer that politics are personal, that faith is expressed through action, and that life is something that must be loved and lived authentically--or why bother with any of it?

Out here the sky is low and the humidity heavy so whatever electricity I was feeling is struggling to reignite very damp, mouldering kindling! πŸ™‚

very intense for sure. couple things come to mind. one a fear of storms and two would be the human element of some ire. definitely like the feel.

Perfect, as thunder rattles in the distance.

Takes me places I’ve been and want to return to time and time again. I’m happy to see you are a fellow lover of the storm who feels beyond the rain. πŸ™‚
