The difference
between riot and revolution
depends less on calculating the number of windows broken,
shots fired,
or naming and cataloging our dead.
The definition rises in smoke
from what’s burned
quantifiable only after
the burning.

Thanks for writing this. Baltimore’s been on my mind. It’s a volcanic vent.
Mine too.
🙂
all the stories of hunts we hear are the ones told by the hunters. and this will continue until the day lions learn to and are able to tell their own stories……
OMG, so very, very true.
Riot, Revolt and
Revolution, Hot Vents
For Expressing Hurts
Yes.
Riots are Ugly
But Their Roots Hide Rots, Stenchy

What troubles me is, with the short American attention span, will anyone even think about or remember what happened a week from now?
This is true.
But, next week, it will be something else along these lines.
Daniels! You’re back! I go away for a while and you reappear… that’s a treat. Subject matter of poem of course is not a treat. Heart bleeds that we cannot get along and get past things that my kids don’t even see anymore. Maybe there’s hope in that, for the future.
Hi Trent! Yeah, Baltimore is heavy on my mind.
I hear ya.
I send you wishes of peace Susan. 🙂
This added a depth that we do not see normally.. It’s not a lot of words needed..
Oh, thank you!
