Baltimore

The difference
between riot and revolution
depends less on calculating the number of windows broken,
shots fired,
or naming and cataloging our dead.

The definition rises in smoke
from what’s burned
quantifiable only after
the burning.

About Susan L Daniels

I am a firm believer that politics are personal, that faith is expressed through action, and that life is something that must be loved and lived authentically--or why bother with any of it?

Daniels! You’re back! I go away for a while and you reappear… that’s a treat. Subject matter of poem of course is not a treat. Heart bleeds that we cannot get along and get past things that my kids don’t even see anymore. Maybe there’s hope in that, for the future.

  7. Nomzi Kumalo says:

I send you wishes of peace Susan. 🙂

  8. This added a depth that we do not see normally.. It’s not a lot of words needed..
