If this is how you love, lover
in a dance of steel and teeth,
feathering pain across unwilling skin,
take your need somewhere else,
because your kisses leave me bloodless
and I am no admirer of vampires,
even those with metaphorical fangs.

Vintage Susan. Love it
Aw, thanks, Audra!
You’re welcome 🙂
wow! I really enjoy reading this piece.
I always like the way you create visuals out of words and make me trip out. 🙂
Excellent! words…what inspired you to write this?
Hi Charlie–thank you…
The inspiration for this is my dysfunctional relationship. Sigh. Going to miss the dark inspiration it has provided, and little else.
oh…is it your husband? or boyfriend?
Say, I’m thinking about us finally collaborating. I was reading my email and I read what you sent me.
I think we should start writing a flarf poet? what do you think? or we can just freestyle of words…whatever is good for you. let me know…:)
I think that sounds great! Just send something on and we will bat it around. The guy is my boyfriend of 9 years.
oh…is everything okay? He’s not hitting is he?
Nah, no hitting, but a big***drain***on energy, if you catch my drift. He can get quite verbal. Which is okay, because he can talk to himself all he wants–I do not have to listen 😉
I see…I’m sorry he’s verbal with you. Don’t listen to him. I think he’ll calm down.
Thanks, Charlie–not speaking, not listening… Waiting for him to leave. Can’t wait for his place to be ready.
Is he leaving you? I say this because you said right now “His place”.???
Yes, I have asked him to. Easier for him to go than for me…
But, don’t you guys have a child together? wait? Do you have a child together? I just want to be sure. 🙂
We do. However, sometimes it is in the best interest of the child to be parented by someone who no longer lives with them.
I have come to expect spectacular poetry from you Susan, this is no exception, bravo!
Oh, you! Thank you!
love this Susan. has so much sass!
Thanks, Stacy.
Yikes. Yeah Man!
You know he had that coming to him…
I did…I did I did I did. PLUS!
😉
your warning is too kind – better to wait for the bright moment and throw up the shade
Ohhhh, awesome advice, Paul!
Oh oh! Is it good riddance? Too bad. But this is powerfully written. 🙂
Hi Celestine–yes, it is most definitely a good riddance situation. Thanks for commenting!
How you manage to keep winners like this coming is what beats me! wow!
THanks, Noel. It helps when one has inspiration that walks, breathes, and pouts in one’s kitchen. Actually, I would prefer to write less and have more peace 😉
You watch True Blood? Abusive behaviors feel exactly like fangs, sucking us dry!
They certainly do–I loved the first season of True Blood. Now, I don; t care for it.
I’ve never seen it but they tell me it just goes in circles –like an abusive relationships !
It is similar. Feeds into a lot of dark and crazy stuff, though it is a lot of fun in a really bloody, nasty way.
gorgeous.
Thank you!
