anhedonia

a lemon
without zest
is just sour fruit

and bubbles
in Perrier
go flat
on my tongue

that’s what
this is–
not real sadness

but an absence
of fizz, a lack
of snap

and it’s past time
to set things
sparking again

About Susan L Daniels

I am a firm believer that politics are personal, that faith is expressed through action, and that life is something that must be loved and lived authentically--or why bother with any of it?

I have a green spandex ra-ra skirt / frilly pink tutu / gold lame waistcoat ensemble with flashing deely-boppers on – and I’m playing Barry White records.
You are hereby invited to wiggle all that you’ve got goin’ on in the PandaHouse baby!! – if that doesn’t get yer fizz goin’ there’s no hope for you!!
p.s. You’ve given poor FaceWindow an identity crisis! Me thinks SuPorn is in fact tired due to excessive libations πŸ˜‰

I enjoyed this, Susan. And the effect you’ve created. You’re indeed a poet.
