i can tell this you
in pictures–
here, flashed & thrown
in the movements of wands
the hope of cups
the sing & sting of swords
& the shine of coins
where the empress
embraces the fool
at the foot of the tower
our days numbered
& reversed
if I am the high priestess
crossing death
anything
is possible
Well I love this Susan… epic feel to it, big.
Thanks, Trent. This is entirely my daughter’s fault, as she was asking me earlier today why I don’t read tarot anymore… Glad you liked.
I never played with those cards before…. right Susan, blame it all on your daughter eh.
Hah, yes! I always blame the innocent to protect the guilty–should have been a lawyer… Those cards really are nothing to toy with–stick to clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades. Much nicer cards. I do love to play poker, too…
Yah ok, will stay away. I don’t need the ill luck.
yes, especially in poker 😉
You know, I’m a little sheepish to say so, but I don’t know how to play poker.
Oh–fun game I learned (not by choice, was bullied into joining a couples card night) and man is it fun! Not so much the game, but reading people…
It just staggers me the sheer variety of your topics and the consistency with which you execute them
Oh, Mike, there you go, turning me all red again! Again, this is strictly my daughter’s fault, as she dredged tarot from the corners of my mind earlier today when she brought it up. I think the variety has to come from the number of hats I have worn… We all have a multiplicity of experience within us to draw from.
I take the short-cut and just have mental illness! 😉
Hahaha–I am sure that is my final destination… Meet you in the psych ward? I will be the one muttering and cursing under her breath, and pacing…
I’ll be the one complimenting the versatility of your lunacy 🙂
🙂
We tend to think of it as in the cards, but perhaps the cards are in us.
I would have to agree, Nelle. When I read, I used to read the people through the cards–the cards were just a tool to that end. When I play poker, I read the cards through the people 😉
very intense. what a great idea and poem.
Miriam, thank you! It all just came at once, from a comment my daughter made earlier.
It’s all in the cards !!!
🙂 at least some of it is suggested!
Easy on those cards! Reminds me of a Bond film where seduction was assisted by a pack of cards! Legally, what happened was rape!
Oh! Which Bond? Do you remember?
As far as taking it easy on the cards, I am a reformed woman–have not touched them in over 18 years 😉 Well, the tarot, anyway–I do love to play poker, though!
