Funny — and alternately horrifying — what fuss arbitrary lines create, and how they create these separations/alienations (ah, alien nations).
Yes, hard to respond without punning 😉
& I agree, Georgia.
It’s like that episode of “I Love Lucy” where Lucy divides the apartment in two – it’s where you draw that line that determines just how good “home” is.
yeah.
This was beautiful … you have hit the right spot !!!
THank you, GS!
Har… wondered on this so much as a child. Um, what makes this Atlantic and that Arctic, Pacific, or Indian? We know why they are oceans, crustal plate separation and all that… but those pesky demarcation lines, so arbitrary. And don’t even go near seas. 😉
Hee, hee–I am right there with you, Nelle…
A friend of mine just on a cruise sent me an e-mail to let me know she was crossing the equator. I wanted something smart ass or clever to write back. You have done so ever so beautifully, thank-you.
Oh, what fun! Please do remind her she just crossed over to spring from fall, too. That always blows my little pea brain…
How true.
Thanks, C. I liked the thought behind this–glad you did too.
