Happy Autumn Susan…sad to see the summer end? Everything seems to be moving so fast, let’s enjoy the fall, okay?
Happy autumn, SFAM! No–not sad in the least–autumn is my favorite season. Just playing with the prompt from HH today. On the equinox, to have the word be birth, I could see no other way to write these haiku but from the perspective of a wheel of seasons/life.
You always see things as they should be seen my friend…it’s the rest of us that get to see them as you do that is so special. This is also my favorite time of the year…I am an autumn child to be sure.
That’s both of us–technically, my due date was today, as my mom was always so fond of telling me–I think she held it against me that I did not wait the extra two days to be born, so I would share a birthday with my grandfather 😉
Awww, well it’s close enough and if you feel it in your bones, then you are an autumn child.
😉 close enough for me
Here in Sweden this is so scary moving into darkness
ahhh–understood. In New York, we will just get really abbreviated days…
Oh, wow–when do the polar nights start for you guys? I do not envy you the lack of the sun, but it must be wonderful to see the aurora borealis (which, while gorgeous, is no substitute for the sun).
Evenness between dark and light…I loved it ..beautiful..
RS:)
Oh, thank you, Ramesh!
Autumn is my favorite season and I always feel a “quickening.” Your haiku speaks to me. Thank you.
Oh, Patti–thank you–me too…something stirs.
Loved it . . . reflective. like the evenness of light and dark
Thank you, Kathy! Yes, balanced for only a little while.
I Loved the second series: Full of images.
Oh, thank you–I like that one better, too!
Enjoyed the second one – beautifully balanced and expressive (and true).
oh, thank you very much. True for one day ;well actually 2 days…)
lovely use of the prompt Susan. I like the sense of time you created
Audra–thank you.
These are perfect for the beginning of Autumn. The second is my favourite although I like “from birth to fading” too. I am on the fading end LOL Thanks so much.
Thanks, Elle–I think I personally just headed closer to winter myself 😉
A good tribute to autumn 🙂
🙂
Fall means balance to me, my fave season which you have described so well in your haiku.
🙂
oh, thank you!
That is very clever ~ mixing the science with the poetry!
thank you–something I like to do!
Spring was just born here, so it’s a different kind of quickening. Even so, you’re right, the light and dark are balanced. Nice set.
Thanks, Jolly–happy spring to you 😉
ALWAYS praying for your peace~ this is electrically stimulated ~ Blessings friend
If only we could equalise other things in life.
Me loves the first one.
Oh, thank you, Celestine!
