the castles I make
have sand drawbridges, and moats
no deeper than hands

Wonderfully crafted haiku.
Thank you so much!
Mine always had drawbridges! Hands as a measure is perfect–and even made me think of the horses that cross the bridges. Perfect.
aw, thank you Susan!
A beautifully simple haiku. The best I have read today! I like the hands at the end, linking back to making – it is very well crafted.
oh my, thank you!
I like the way you showed the depth of moats.. you must have seen that moats in my haiku can’t be measured with depth.. I loved your haiku so much..
Ramesh, thanking you!

Very very nice images! Love the last line.
Thank you, Barbara!
I’ve seen moats in England, and not one of them was/is as shallow as the length of a hand. Oh, how you startled—and delighted—me with your image!
Drawbridge
Thank you MMT π
There is a playfulness to this that I really like.
Thanks, Patti!
And no gators!
Yes–maybe I can put in a few tadpoles for the gator effect π
Reminds me of times at the beach watching people sculpt wonders with their hands in the sand. π DrawBridge
