***LANGUAGE WARNING***
no bad grammar, but I cuss a little in this one…
politics regresses us.
no grooming can kill all
the parasites sucking us
to anemia, but still
we pick & stroke
the minutiae
that will bleed us empty
we are locked in our
respective cages
devolve easily
to monkey dominance games
of fighting & fucking
snarling over crumbs
spitting & throwing shit
at each other
never seeing the true enemies
in the keepers
who hold the keys
& throw us scraps
of conventions, zoos and our core escaping the veneer, the well rehearsed smiles and surfacing!
Oh yes! And it is only August…help! Please excuse me while I go wash my mouth out with soap (or perhaps it is the fingers that typed the words that need a good scrubbing). I still remember my mother’s words, on overhearing me cuss someone out once–The education I paid for did not teach you enough language to avoid using words like that?
do not cuss – there is power in the word! just pray that such people see the light and get the monkeys they carry around off their shoulders! 21 century Kurtz’s, minds twisted and hollow!
Wow–the Conrad reference works well here, Noel. Very well.
This is my fave ever from you Susan. I respect anger and there is some real emotion in this. Zoo nation indeed – are you from the States by the way?
Thanks so much, Trent. Yes–I am your neighbor to the south–but not by much, 35 miles away from the Peace Bridge. The political circus is really just warming up–I have two more months of it to endure and somehow keep my sanity 🙂
Cool. I get down to Niagara area a fair bit for work. Well, try to maintain sanity. It’s not like the fate of the free world is hanging on this election or anything.
LOL, glad about that! It would definitely make it easier to deal with if I could just sit back, relax, and laugh at the sheer stupidity of it all–but so much of what is going on is just bugging the crap out of me this time…
My sympathies. We get bombed up here with the highlights, can only imagine what it’s like down here.
Don’t even try–I pity my non-US friends on social media who get all my political junk.
the fact that you said “cuss” cracked me up —
ps I hate the nasty politcal scene…
Ohhhh, me too–in case you could not tell. As I said above, God help us, as we have two more months of it.
LOL, I had to do it–reminds me of my Dad.
That’s why monkeys are supposed to have fun 🙂 PS- Don’t mind the language; as long as it’s funtional you’re ok 🙂
Hee, hee–that would be fun, I guess 🙂
So true – and make it all seem like our idea.
Yes, they somehow manage to do that…
