we are instruments
and our voices
are well-tuned;
sometimes
we breathe language lightly
& those scales
feather skin
like foreplay
those tones you like,
stroking spine
& weaving through hair
like elegant fingers
but our words, too,
carry little weight
after they leave our lips
easy to speak over softness
and ignore shrilling
or silence it
Your words carry meaning
Weightlessly
With the inertia of truth
Soft as a pillow whisper
In the dark
David–that is GORGEOUS, and, um…um…yeah…let’s just stick with that for now as I turn all shades of red 😉
Hope you do publish that on your blog, though.

Oh, my, thanks, Audra.
Tone of voice reflects tone of heart 🙂
It definitely does.
Nice one, particularly like ‘weaving through hair like elegant fingers’.
Thanks, Nelle.
Susan I just felt chills in my bones!
Oh, hon–I hope they were good chills…
