artistry (2 poems)

1.

her voice over violins or guitar
always knows far more than it sings;
songs with secrets throbbing against glass
like hummingbird wings
or luna moths at night
whisper-humming through moonlight

2.

she never just sits.
she arranges herself
the only place
in a room
where sun will draw
her shadow thinly
on the wall
or across the floor

everything posed
in such easy elegance

About Susan L Daniels

I am a firm believer that politics are personal, that faith is expressed through action, and that life is something that must be loved and lived authentically--or why bother with any of it?

  1. Each artist sets the pace, the tone, the vibe. And the thrill of the secret chord imbues each strum, each downstroke, with something deep inside.

    • Thank you. I really enjoy listening to Suzanne Vega (gee–I bet you could tell that), but do not write to her often, as what I write while I listen sounds too much like her voice 🙂

  4. nelle says:
