this is how
a soul feeds
puts down roots
grows
something
like a tree
matter
& stretching
not taller
just up
because that is what
trees know
(at least
in this poem
where I
put words
to their
mouthlessness)
leaning
only slightly
with them
to witness light
swim in water
Beautiful! suggest you upload the photos of the leaning branch and the plant that sprouts from a crack in a rock form to complete the effect
What a wonderful idea–thank you! I think I shall. I will, however, refrain from telling you how wonderful you are for suggesting the idea, as I do not want to be accused of wielding excess charm 🙂
Truth stands on its own – needs no support!
🙂 Yes, it does!
oops–I mean OI agree–please do not think I am arguing here–will pick my battles, LOL
i sense a hunger and thirst, a deepening of yourself ~ a need of becoming ~am I mistaken ?
You are so spot on!
Ok, sounds soooooo inviting. And really like ‘because that is what trees know’.
Thanks, Nelle 🙂
Beautiful words and photos, Susan. This is great
Thanks! Noel’s idea to add the photos 🙂
