around midnight
someone heard 2 pops
loud but innocent
like firecrackers
but today
1 young woman is dead
and another
struggles through heartbeat
and breath
to not join her lover there
my thoughts float
to hate crimes
and labeling
but who can label love
sin
and murder
the correction of it?
