the keyboard is stammering

no such thing as a typo
he says & al of a sodden
misstakes have meaning
wrapped inside
like birthday presents
those backstabbing fingertips
have no business tapping about

like 10 noisy fifth-grade girls
spreading secrets
just because they can

& now the jig is up
& the keyboard stammers
butt butt but I didn’t mean to say that

when of course
we all know it did

About Susan L Daniels

I am a firm believer that politics are personal, that faith is expressed through action, and that life is something that must be loved and lived authentically--or why bother with any of it?

I really like the idea to this, hidden meanings held inside mistakes

  2. ******Susan, your beautiful Freud suffused poem prompted this – consider it an instant stammer cos this is not the song I had hoped to sing!

    Keyboard sudden sodden with stammer,
sodden fingers leaking, pressure and pleasure on fingers,
hydaulics, control valves and bubbling words and thoughts,
energy, all tumbling, fluid dynamics and sublimal flows stabilising
    internal riots, ordered entropy
a benign judas like affliction announcing uprightness
so when next the keyboard stammers,
say no buts, not butts, not misskates, not errors
but errands from within butting into and jotting out
    to the without, shy

this is a cool piece. it’s a good way to say that it’s the keyboards fault for what is coming out. it can be two way as this can be a way to vent against those that used backstabbing tricks on others.

    • Noel–Wow. Now, THAT does a stammering keyboard justice! Really, really, really like this:
energy, all tumbling, fluid dynamics and sublimal flows stabilising
      internal riots, ordered entropy
a benign judas like affliction announcing uprightness

Of course, its all great, but especially like those lines!
