Weeding

The lesson is simple:

Wear gloves,
because this is muddy effort
that works its way
beneath fingernails

the unplanned roots
grab hard, unwilling to leave
soil this well-tended
& welcoming

some are beautiful

but leaving them
will choke & stunt
what feeds us

About Susan L Daniels

I am a firm believer that politics are personal, that faith is expressed through action, and that life is something that must be loved and lived authentically--or why bother with any of it?
