I answer poetry
with poetry
a dialogue
socratic in method
speaking not in tongues
but questions, as if
circular reasoning
like my tongue
will tease out
and seduce truth
into declaring itself mine
always mine
if I will stop
all foreplay
and take it,
deep and secret
as sacred things
are meant to go
Susan Daniels
a person to be reckoned
within her glow words
Aw, thanks, Jules…
Take it deep girl! 🙂
😉
This is nice. I’ve run out of words for the night. Sleep well, Susan.
Thanks, Alice.
Its amazing how sensual and seductive this is, giving tongue to charged words.
Thanks, David. So easy to be seduced by an idea…
……………….”as if
circular reasoning
like my tongue
will tease out”
These lines intrigue me, so ripe with so many potential meanings….
Truth is a slippery lover…seducing the seducer…be careful….
Oh! If there is not a poem in that last line, I am going to fire my muse for getting all excited over nothing. Write it, JCC.
It’s in the oven….
Waiting is always the hardest part for me…
…but often one of the most important parts…many of my poems need that rising/simmering/braising/resting time…
Worth the wait. my impatience is just an homage to the quality I will read 😉
I like this very much, Susan, because I appreciate things that provoke taking a second look. I too see finding one’s truth as a relationship. And who can deny the sexuality inherent in all relationships?…something our current religions have stripped from the script.
Oh, excellent point, JH!
…and I may have to still this line…”stripped from the script.”
*steal*
Please do!
Teasing, as pleasing, is best done by tongue… 😉
Absolutely!
And lovely dialogue it is, Susan.
😉 thanks, Georgia!
Love the first few lines. Meanwhile, I wrote a poem and was going to send it to you to read…just remembered now. Fingers crossed, that I remember before the day ends and send it to you
OK, hon, looking forward to it!
Like the spirit of it… circle the words.
Nelle, thanks so much!
