Hi poetry pals!
Well, today, something interesting happened. Bruce wrote a poem, which inspired me, which in turn inspired Audra at UnfetteredBS, which inspired Franzad to write a lovely poem. Talk about a wonderful chain reaction! This led Bruce and Franzad to try out an “Inspiring Each Other” prompt, where one person starts with a poem, and we see where it branches out from there. So…let me know if you are interested in joining the fun!
For an example, check this out:
I’m In!
Cool!
I’ve been thinking something “renga”-like would be fun…and inspiring to start amongst WPers.
That’s great! I think we are going to have some fun!
Sounds like fun!
Awesome!
Reblogged this on words on life and other strange experiences and commented:
am stealing Susans words for this…so join if you like…
I am so glad to see you initiating and encouraging these collaborations Susan. I will get more involved in the future but today the timing was off for me. These sorts of global poetic interactions rock! I have talked about them in various poetry sessions around town and people are always excited to hear about them. Reaching out through the internet to create art is a testament to the human spirit.
Oh, I agree, and these are so exciting. I love to see what the internet is doing to all of our writing! Hope you’ll join us soon on this!

Susan,
I saw this post come and go… likely on my phone… I’ve been swamped at work with the occasional touch on WordPress but tonight I sat down determined to find it again… 😀 That said, where are you on this idea. I have enjoyed writing poems inspired by paintings, photos, music, blog comments etc. I have also enjoyed writing “response” poems where I write as the “other side” of a poem as in an answer to the original poem. eg here http://stephenkellogg.wordpress.com/2012/06/19/1047/
You can also go to my blog and search on “Inspired by” to see other examples.
I’d love to jump in on something like this so … next steps? I hope to have more time over the next week or two to write so let me know.
Peace,
Stephen
Will do, Stephen–would love to have you join us for the next one!
Susan,
Thanks! I actually found my way to the one that Franza posted and have written a poem in reply to that one. I’ve got another reply in the making that I hope to finish up tonight. Thanks
Peace,
Stephen
Fantastic!
