this is a crying out
the music wolves make
but from one throat
howling
wordless & blown
through body made flute
is this love
or worship
summoning–
or are they
the same thing
sounding this call
that shakes bones
to sand
this is a crying out
the music wolves make
but from one throat
howling
wordless & blown
through body made flute
is this love
or worship
summoning–
or are they
the same thing
sounding this call
that shakes bones
to sand
This one made me think !!!
if you listen to Peter Gabriel’s song “Passion” on You-Tube, you’ll hear the inspiration for this one 😉
i’ve listened to peter in the past but didn’t recollect this one. just by listening to it i can certainly see how you got the feel from this. sometimes that is what i do, but usually the combo of words and music. i really like those last two lines.
thanks, Don. I originally chose the song for its lack of words, as I did not want any of his creeping in…but I really liked the way this one turned out 😉
Ohhhh–I should have waited and done something to “Cloudless” instead. Darn it.
This is positively elemental. Don’t really want to listen to the Peter Gabriel thing, think I would rather let this work on me on its own terms. Thanks for the follow, and this great poem.
Thank you so much. I would not have said anything, but G.S. sounded a bit lost…only reason I mentioned Gabriel in the first place. Think it stands just fine on its own. Thanks for liking this, and for your follow as well. I am going to enjoy your writing and your comments!
Cool… not sure I’d like any wolves around here though. I’ll stick with loons!
loons are much, much better!
…..and another Russel Ray camping trip comes to an end………………..Hope all is well.
Thanks, Russel! Everything’s great–hope things are well with you too 😉
