that word
I use to celebrate
my commitment to chocolate
& coffee
more than I do
people
so much so
it loses visceral force
spoken
but
your definition
is not so much
that flowering
into an us
that is more than word
& is really
dependence
dressed up
& made presentable
to name
your gasping need
an emptiness
I will not step inside
to fill
so
I overuse the word
& you
cannot feel
the power behind
the real thing
I love this poem 🙂
And I also enjoyed this poem in a way that words cannot describe. When one “loves” everything it is really hard to like anything.
🙂 yes, it is! I “love” your comment, too!
No quotations for coffee!
No quatations for your children !
Everyrhing else bla bla bla!
I love it! So true!
LOL 🙂
You know it!
very good susan. absolutely love it:)
Thanks, Don
Interesting.
thank you 🙂
ahh but one can “feel” the power of your poetry Susan… and that will live forever
Audra–thanks, hon 🙂
Interesting exploration of dynamics, of where words carry force and where they don’t. Sometimes the product is bidirectional, and sometimes it’s importance limits to the one…or the other. Pass the dark chocolate whilst I ponder…
here you go–I prefer the very dark chocolate, with just a thin layer of orange sandwiched in the middle. Sigh–I can commit to that for life 🙂
Very nice and a good projection of disconnection
Thanks, Ian 🙂
powerful words
Thank you, Celestine. At the moment, I am indulging in my two main non-human weaknesses at once–whomever invented mocha was an evil genius.
I found it like a scourge ~ excellently expressed~ Love you ~ Deb
