light-fingered drums
on a tin roof
we have missed
this music
singing dust to earth
to an under bare feet
yielding
we can sink toes in
I did not dance
to bring this
but I will
dance inside it
while squash blossoms
sigh throats open
tasting water
“I did not dance / to bring this / but I will / dance inside it” Such a great line, like music.
Thank you 🙂
I quite agree– my favorite line! spectacular as always
Thanks, Audra!
So nice… so needed, still.
Yes–We’ll take what we can get…
So lovely! You must have a lot of free time to write so much! BEAUTIFUL Susan! ~Deb
Thank, Deb. Free time–what is that? Never heard of it…
The intense joy at the first rains – I recal how we used to dance, run and rump naked in the village in sheer joy at its libersating drops, its coolness and its liberating fragrance
I can see it–and we felt that here, 2 days ago 🙂
our little secret, but someone did a rain dance!
🙂 yay!
