1. I crave so baldly
yes, crave
that death-giving
killer of feeling
cigarette
that
until yesterday
was what saved
everyone
from random
floating bitchiness
that poisoned air
as much as second-hand smoke
2. It is not so difficult
not so long
as I drag this mind
whine/kicking
and generally tantrumming
from #1.
Mind over matter! The winning mind wills and wins and weans itself from habits! Good poem!
Exactly (of course you are getting this in the midst of #2–might have been more whining if I was in #1, LOL). Thank you 🙂
tantrumming–how does one decide to spell a made up verb?
trying to give up myself and this puts it perfectly
Thank you, Kyle…and best wishes on your giving up, too 🙂
Oh heck, you all can do it. If I can you can. I have zero willpower…zip, zilch. but there ya go. I’m here if anyone needs a pep talk! 🙂
no pep talk needed, but perhaps someone could kill my ex, who is smoking 3 feet from me? Pat on the back for self, SO not interested–I must really be done with it.
Well that won’t do! New Rule…100 yard perimeter…insist until you don’t have to. I’m patting you on the back to, you go ahead and give yourself one.
Aw, thanks. Really am psyched I have not killed him for doing that, and that I really could care less… 🙂

“Random/ floating bitchiness.” That’s fantastic. I can visualize it but it also makes me laugh.
🙂 Good! I believe there is healing in the ability to laugh at oneself, and I was snickering as I wrote that line (funny for me, lessienng the power of that random bitchiness, and naming it for what it is all at once).
lessening–please forgive my spelling!
I have imparied breathing…so smoke makes me very sick indeed…. but that does not save me from habits! My bad habit is that second hand-full of almonds! I’m positively adicted to them. As you say…we just have to turn away…turn to something that can enthrall us and make our bodies crave the clear cool air.
That is so true–thanks!
