if you could drink my qi
to revive your own
which sun, time
& your own brand of bitterness
have sucked to dry sticks
I am sure you would.
You have taken
everything else.
Even now, you wax & I wane
in this pattern I call using me up
& you still call loving each other.
This is strong! Distances widen – stone hurling tempts!
Oh, I hope not, as I am not without sin in this 🙂
Darn it, Noel–you just gave me another idea…. Wait, that should be–thank you, Noel, you just gave me another idea!
walk tall, walk away, and sing “walk on by” but no tears.
do you accept the awards on this site? Rhonda just nominated me, and I want to nominate your blog…..
still learning the ropes! Give me some more time! Imela!
Will do–this is the first one I’m actually accepting 🙂
My first impulse was to say–“eek, no way!” as I have with the other nominations I’ve gotten.
Still linking your blog to the post, though, but I will be kind and not nominate you….. This time…. more people need to read your wonderful poetry–and out loud, because it is so beautiful. What is “you are welcome” or the equivalent in Igbo?
with such charm, how can I refuse? and next time, you accuse Zoe of being a charmer, know where she inherited those charm genes from! Imela will also do in this situation of you are welcome – or “Ndewo”!
so, nwanyi oma, ndewo.
Noel–I will go as far to say that perhaps she inherited a 50:50 mix!
I would like to hear that spoken, sounds so beautiful 🙂
trouble in paradise? go to your garden and find the love!!!
LOL, relationships are a continuum–reflecting on rough spots, celebrating/remembering the bubbly parts–all one and the same…. And any can generate inspiration, when the writer has a pretty much photographic memory…. Poor Thom.
Poor Thom! Does he know he inspires you so? 🙂
that’s the risk you take, living with a poet 🙂
