I dreamed your voice,
waking with
always that leap forward
this heart takes
when it hears you
if want
can span this stretch,
lift spirit free from strings
& fly
I know, precisely
where mine would go
unheeding & careless
of what it leaves here
still bound
Gorgeous writing,
“if want
can span this stretch,
lift spirit free from strings
& fly”
Danny, thank you.
Ahh!!! Love 🙂
Boomie, thanks! Two poems woke me this morning, each squabbling for attention–kind of like what certain twin girls must do to their mama every morning in IL 😉
Susan, this is poetry in motion. Wow!
Oh, thank you. This is what happens when you wake up with 2 poems in your head at once, sorting them out 😉
Glad you liked it, Noel. Dalu.
Very good. Tight.>KB
KB, thank you!
Sometimes, I have had such dreams…beyond surreal and difficult to realize, yet addictive to stay on. It’s more like that first high which a junkie perpetually chases.
The power of the mind and its desires transcend physical boundries yet limited by them. Such irony… such poesy…. such class… I like!
Obinna, thank you so much. Pinking up here a little, because reactions like this from as skilled a poet as yourself just make my day! Between your words and Noel’s my head is going to float to the ceiling, full of all this hot air 😉
if only you will promise to come down by dinner time…you’re free to float…
LOL, my dinner time, or yours? That gives me a large window to drift…
well its dinner time here already…
drat, I have to come down now, then. It is time for lunch here.
hmmm…skilled? I am just a 32 year-old fledgling learning the ropes…
Hah, skill has nothing to do with age…art and manipulation of media are independent of the calendar, and we are “about” the same writer’s age, as I had a HUGE writer’s block that Iasted 17 years. Take that pearl of “wisdom” from a woman old enough to have been your baby sitter 😉
Ummmm, yummy.
Aw, thanks, Georgia!
Yes … a lovely poem on love and yearning 🙂
oh, thank you!
Nice to know the destination.
🙂
