I new there was a haiku about sandcastles around this prompt, but for the life of me I couldn’t come up with it. Glad you did . . . well done!
Mine always had drawbridges! Hands as a measure is perfect–and even made me think of the horses that cross the bridges. Perfect.
A beautifully simple haiku. The best I have read today! I like the hands at the end, linking back to making – it is very well crafted.
I like the way you showed the depth of moats.. you must have seen that moats in my haiku can’t be measured with depth.. I loved your haiku so much..
this was such a challenging prompt… but your effort here with this one looks effortless as it came beautifully… in short this is dreamlike… http://chaigaramchai.blogspot.in/2012/08/drawbridge-haiku.html
I’ve seen moats in England, and not one of them was/is as shallow as the length of a hand. Oh, how you startled—and delighted—me with your image! Drawbridge
Reminds me of times at the beach watching people sculpt wonders with their hands in the sand. DrawBridge
